bored with mobiles

bridgett gets bored of her mobiles so fast [or maybe it's me?] so i started snooping around my google reader for diy ideas to keep my lil' mamas entertained.
we started with just pink & gray poms above her crib.
then i added this mobile from tiny love + teething rings to it [see the black & white one hanging]. lately i've been propping up my ipad in there to play wonder pets- which she loves & talks back to.

here are my favorites from the roundup, which do you like best? maybe i'll do them all & switch them out every week...

bridgett's room

i started working on bridgett's room a long, long time ago. well with bedrest, preterm labor, and then a newborn.. the room never really got finished. we will be moving soon, so i put the project on hold & will start over at the new place. for now, here is a lovely collection of photos taken by corey morgan of her soon-to-be old room :)
pretty pink & gray.
 shower gifts for her dresser.
pottery barn blocks from her fairy godmother.
cupcake boppy for play time.
basket of bows.
chair & toychest in her reading corner.
one row of her clothes, oops, ha
inside her crib.
really inside her crib.
cuddling with mama.

change of heart

today my mother in law took me to le baby. i had already [as you know] picked out the penelope bird bedding from pottery barn, but we thought we would just go look at their custom design options in case something caught my eye. a couple hours later, we picked out these fabrics for bridgett's room! i've been talking constantly about pink and gray for her room, so i'm so glad we found something that works.

her sheets will be the pink leaves [fabric on far left]. her bumper will be the pink dandelion fabric with the grey/white stripe [the grey looks darker in this picture than it really is] as a trim for the bows. her bed skirt will be the grey/white stripe fabric. her blanket will be one side pink dandelion, and the other side the pink furry rose fabric [fabric on the far right] with the grey/white stripe trim.

i can't wait to see how it comes out.
hopefully it will be done in time for the shower so my mother in law can bring it to show everyone!

hello, i'm pink.

opinions please!
we have already picked out baby girls crib bedding set, but i am clueless as to what color to paint the nursery. all her furniture will be white, and a ton of stuff we ordered in pink (little baby chairs, step stools, etc.) i've never been a fan of walls that say, "hello, i'm pink." for example, the room in the picture with her bedding below.

i've thought about maybe doing a muted color- like grey? with pink vertical thick stripes on the wall the crib is on... i don't know. maybe bottom half of walls grey? top half light light green?  the set has pink, green, yellow and white. so please tell me- what do you think?

too bad i couldn't do magic. i could just snap my fingers & have this fairytale appear for baby girl.
